Scott Grimmett

Systems Engineer and CEO

Scott Grimmett, Bachelor of Science and Electrical Engineering, graduated cum laude with a GPA of 3.7 in 1984 from the University of Idaho.

Scott worked at Hewlett Packard/Agilent Technologies for 25 years. From his work there, Scott became a nationally recognized expert in wireless base station testing. Scott was the architect for the Agilent E7495A CDMA/TDMA/GSM Wireless Base Station Test Set, and led the development of the next generation E6474A CDMA 1x over-the-air base station test tool. Scott developed software to automatically commission and maintain Nortel, Lucent, Motorola, Ericsson, Hughes, and Novatel Base Stations significantly reducing the time to test a base station. He pioneered the test methodology and software for the calibration of the CDMA E911 location finding system, software which is currently the worldwide standard for calibration of CDMA wireless phones and base stations.

From his work at HP, Scott was awarded a United States Patent for Center Frequency Calibration for DC Coupled Frequency Modulation in a Phase-Locked Loop, Patent Number: 5,150,082, September 22, 1992. Scott has been published in RF Design, June 1991 for his article “Frequency Modulation in a Phase Lock Loop by Control of the Phase inside the Loop”  and in Wireless Design and Development, August 2008 for his article “Testing MMS Functionality in Mobile Phones.” Scott holds an extra class Amateur Radio licensee, call sign AD7KV.

At Industrial Communications, Scott has done numerous projects for public safety and businesses, including defining and implementing two linked repeaters for Sacred Heart and Holy Family Hospital, identifying and resolving RF interference at Spokane International Airport Fire Station, building a VHF and UHF cross-band repeater for Box Canyon Dam, developing remotely accessible mountaintop base station for Pend Oreille County PUD, overseeing the complete outfitting of police vehicle packages for Reardan PD, upgrading Inland Empire Paper's repeater system, planning and managing the installation of a Zetron 911 center for Benewah county, and many more projects throughout the Inland Northwest.
